Make Holiday Cards!
Make fun, loose beautiful holiday cards using whatever materials you can find around the house. I will offer tips on how to use the supplies you have on hand to make original, beautiful cards with maximum fun and minimal stress. Students are welcome to follow a simple formula or go in their own direction depending on available supplies and personal preference.
You will need a base paper and at lease one decoration option, necessary tools and a drop cloth
Base Paper: this can be light cardboard, paper bags, watercolor paper (cheap or expensive), sketch paper, etc.
Decoration options include but aren’t limited to:
Make it colorful: Colored markers, colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, ink and application tools, such as brushes, sponges or droppers
Glue it on: decorative papers, fabric, colorful magazines, sequins, glitter (careful, it will be everywhere forever) glue and a brush.
Think outside the box! Rubber stamps, buttons, yarn, hole punch, embroidery floss and needles, sewing machine, etc.
What else? Protect your table and floor with old towels, cut open paper or plastic garbage bags, water in a non-tippy container to wash brushes, an old t-shirt so you can get messy.
